Sources: FBI's 'court authorized law enforcement' actions in VA connected to gang activity
WASHINGTON (ABC7) —
The
FBI has confirmed to ABC7 News that they are executing "court
authorized law enforcement activities" in the DC area Wednesday morning.
Sources tell ABC7 News that the actions are connected to gang activity.
At least 10 people have been arrested by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), FBI across the D.C. area Wednesday as part of a wide-ranging investigation involving gangs, guns and drugs, according to sources.
The ATF announced earlier Wednesday they were engaged in "ongoing law enforcement activity" from Woodbridge to Alexandria.
The FBI's Washington Field office says the activities are taking place in the greater DC area and that federal, state and local agencies are involved.
This is a developing news story that will be updated.
