"Today is the day the world is released from bondage... ~ Anonymous"
HANGZHOU, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping
said on Saturday that the Group of 20 (G20) has made breakthroughs this
year in three areas to build an inclusive world economy.
"This year's G20 has, for the first time, put the issue of development front and center of the global macro policy framework," Xi said in a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the Business 20 summit in eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou.
It is also the first time that the G20 makes an action plan for implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and carries out cooperation to support the industrialization of African countries and least developed countries, he said.

China's legislature ratifies Paris Agreement on climate change
BEIJING, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- China's
top legislature on Saturday ratified the Paris Agreement on climate
change, a significant international legal document that outlines
post-2020 global climate governance.
Lawmakers voted to adopt "the proposal to review and ratify the Paris Agreement," at the closing meeting of the week-long bimonthly session of the National People's Congress Standing Committee.
The much-anticipated Paris Agreement on climate change is the third document to attempt to address climate change, following the 1992 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the 1997 Kyoto Protocol.
