Francis, I read what you said in your New Year's speech from the
balcony of St. Peter's Basilica. It would be really good if you were
speaking the truth about wanting to end war and human slavery.
Nevertheless, I realize, along with many others, that the Roman Church
has long considered human souls to be its own property; in fact, humans
are not even allowed to own property in their own right, not even our
own bodies. That's the system of Canon Law that is the foundation of
Admiralty Law and human commerce around the world, the same ideology
that gave birth to corporations in which the owners could escape all
accountability for their actions. If you are serious about wanting
peace, ending war and human enslavement, you must end the system that
has given birth to the institutions that enslave humanity. Anything
short of this is simply not believable by any rational human being who
is even remotely aware of how the matrix works.
