DNA Diagnostics, a private lab located in Nacogdoches, Texas, has released their findings of a DNA study performed by veterinarian researcher Melba S. Ketchum, and these findings have already created an uproar in the scientific and crypto-zoological communities.
After a five-year study and analysis of more than 100 DNA samples believed to come from Sasquatches, a team of researchers under Ketchum's direction have concluded that the creature is a human relative that somehow developed around 15,000 years ago as a result of a hybrid cross between Homo sapiens and an unknown primate.
These findings, although yet to be analyzed by peer review, suggest the sasquatch species in fact exists, is a human relative, though is not an ancestor of the modern human, but a 'branch' of the Homo Sapiens genetic tree. More analysis by independent researchers is expected in the future, but for now, many feel these findings alone merit laws to be enacted throughout the world to protect these human relatives from hunters, following states with foresight such as Washington and California.
