Requesting Your Input About Comment Box & Site Improvement
So it has come to my attention via multiple emails and comments that a new communication system be put into place regarding the comment box located on the side bar.
The comment box located at the right side of the webpage is currently not moderated. This leaves the comment box open for abuse and some call the negative behavior 'trolling'. As you have noticed I have taken a back seat approach as I avoid being the 'Judge and Jury' of peoples opinions and comments.
Anybody can post as ANONYMOUS and say whatever they want without consequences. Some have even suggested that there are one or two "trolls" that deliberately attack other people for the purpose of causing division among the freedom movement. My definition of a troll, is someone who initiates communication with the intent of trying to cause trouble and arouse anger from others. To me, trolling is different as compared to someone who is respectfully disagreeing or debating an area of discussion. There seems to be a grey area here as I have seen people being called a troll for just stating a nonvolatile opinion.
Of course it would be nice if everyone would communicate like if they where talking with someone face to face, meaning ethical and respectful behavior. But it seems the urge to voice our opinions behind an anonymous comment box has empowered our egos to come forth and show the aggressive side of our passionate view points.
An un-moderated comment box has its pros and cons. The pros are complete freedom of expression without the hindrance of registration. The cons are that anger, negativity, and spam, are promoted without consequence.
So a democratic vote is called upon to see what the majority of the visitors of this website would like to implement.

- Do you want a real-time chat room or a comment box? (chat room is for real-time discussion between the users and a comment box is more of a voicing your opinion or sharing information without the real-time element of a discussion.)

- Do you want to allow guest posting and non-registration to post comments?
- Do you want to have user registration before people are allowed to post comments? (the alternative is complete freedom to post anonymously)
- Do you want the option for the moderator to ban people? (You are granting permission to the moderator to be the Judge and Jury as to what can be posted)
- Are emotion icons important to you?
